Susan Bazzana – Head of College

Susan Bazzana is Head of St Martin’s College. She commenced in the role on 1 February 2021 having spent the previous six and a half years as Dean of Residents at New College Postgraduate Village at UNSW in Sydney.

Susan grew up in rural NSW and was one of the first members in her extended family to attend university. She has a Bachelor of Arts; Graduate Diploma in Communication (Distinction); Graduate Diploma in Christian Studies; Masters of Management and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. She is a Board member of Reventure Ltd and Kids Hope. Susan is also involved in a number of Christian organisations and is an active member of South Wagga Anglican Church.

She has worked in Communications, Marketing, and Management roles for a range of organisations including the Queensland Farmer’s Federation; Rural Industries Research and Development Corporation; Church Missionary Society (Victoria) and World Vision Australia. She has a passion for developing flourishing communities and loves working with young adults. St Martin’s residents are enjoying their invitations to dinner in her home.

In her spare time she is involved with the local Urban Landcare group and enjoys gardening and reading.

Susan acknowledges the extraordinary contribution St Martin’s has played a vital role in the lives of many people since it opened in 1992. As we approach our 30th Anniversary she is keen to ensure the stories of our St Martin’s collegians and the impact they have made in so many areas is widely celebrated.

Other staff

Assistants to Head of College

Anna Conyers, Pippa Prenzler and Beck Lance, our Assistants to Head of College, are available in the College Office Monday to Friday from 9am until 1pm (The Head of College is usually available outside of these hours in the office on weekdays, and a staff member or RA on duty is always available after hours/weekends). They assist with the financial and office management of the college. You can email them at stmartins@csu.edu.au

The Cleaners

The Cleaners Are responsible for cleaning the student residences on a regular weekly cycle.


2024 St Martins Senior Students

(Residential Advisers or RAs) Our four Senior Students assist in pastoral care and have current first aid training. They take on special responsibility for Academic, Sporting, Christian, and Social development programs. The positions are advertised at the end of Term 3 of each year. Training is undertaken in January/February each year.

Our Residential Advisors for 2024 are Lizzie Gordon, Josephine Wood, Tobias Kirk and Mac Webster.

Lizzie is from Brisbane and is a 2nd year student at CSU undertaking a Bachelor of Veterinary Biology/Veterinary Science degree. In 2024 she wants the Marties community to be known for being a warm and welcoming place that fosters adventure and independence during one’s time at university.


Josephine is from Canberra and is a 3rd year student at CSU undertaking a Bachelor of Veterinary Technology degree. In 2024 she wants the Marties community to be known for being a close linked group of friends where everyone feels comfortable to have a go at many activities. 


Tobias is from Tamworth and is a 3rd year student at CSU undertaking a Bachelor of Veterinary Science/Bachelor of Veterinary Biology degree. In 2024 he wants the Marties community to be known for being a supportive and fun community



Mac is from Orange and is a 2nd year student at UNSW undertaking a Bachelor of Medicine degree. In 2024 he wants the Marties community to be known for being fun, inclusive, and tight-knit.
