St Martin’s College offers a number of scholarships. To apply for all but the Country Education Foundation scholarships you will need to apply through the CSU scholarships webpage. Browse all scholarships and grants - Scholarships (csu.edu.au)

The number of scholarships available each year is dependent on the scholarship funds available. Closing dates for the scholarships vary so please check the CSU scholarships website to ensure you apply on time.

The Richard Johnson First Year Scholarship

This scholarship is aimed at enabling students from Rural & Regional low SES background, or students who have been in Anglicare “out of home” care, to commence university study at CSU’s Wagga Wagga campus. Applicants must be resident in St Martin’s College to receive the scholarship which covers a significant portion of their first year accommodation costs in St Martin’s College.

The Helen & James Faulks St Martin’s College Scholarships

This scholarship is awarded for one year to a resident of St Martin’s College who can demonstrate financial hardship. The scholarship is valued at $2000 and is to be used for the payment of accommodation fees to St Martin’s College.

St Martin’s College and Country Education Foundation Scholarships

Scholarships are awarded to assist students with fee relief for College living expenses. To be eligible for a scholarship applicants must be an Australian citizen or a permanent resident; be approved of an offer of a place at St Martin’s College; be identified by CEF as receiving support from a local CEF foundation. The scholarships are valued at $2500 and will be paid via fee relief for accommodation, it cannot be deferred. Please contact the Country Education Foundation to apply.

St Martin’s College Academic Scholarships

Academic scholarships are awarded to assist students in financial need who have demonstrated academic excellence. To be eligible for a scholarship, applicants must be enrolled in any undergraduate course offered full time on the Wagga Wagga campus; must be residing at St Martin’s College for the full year of awarding; experiencing genuine financial hardship and demonstrated academic excellence (GPA 5.0 and above or ATAR 70.0 and above). The scholarship is valued at $2500 and must be used to cover accommodation costs.

St Martin’s College Accommodation Scholarships

This scholarship has been established to provide accommodation scholarships for new students to St Martin’s College studying Veterinary Science, Medical Radiation and Nursing. The scholarship is open to new and returning residents residing at St Martin’s College in the year of the award; students must reside at St Martin’s for the full year that the scholarship is awarded. This scholarship is valued at $2500 and must be used to cover accommodation costs.

St Martin’s Heads of College Scholarship

The St Martin’s Head of College Scholarship has been establised by former Heads of the College to financially support residents of the College with the costs associated with their studies. The scholarship is open to 2nd/3rd/4th/5th year students or those doing Honours or Postgraduate studies in any course at CSU. The applicants must have lived for at least one year at St Martin’s College and have continuing residency in the year of the award with a minimum GPA of 4.0. Applicants need to demonstrate active community participation at St Martin’s College in the previous year and demonstrated leadership or participation in a wider community activity whilst at university. Students currently employed as Resident Advisors at St Martin’s College are not eligible to apply. This scholarship is valued at $2500 and must be used to cover accommodation costs.

The Bowcher Family Scholarship

The Bowcher Family Scholarship was created to recognise the family’s involvement within the Anglican Church, Anglican agencies and to support students with their tertiary education at CSU. 

Mr Andrew Bowcher is a past board member of St Martin’s College, foundation director and past Chair of The Riverina Anglican College, Deputy Chair and Parish Councillor of Wagga Anglican Parish, Founding member and Warden of Northern Life Anglican Church and past graduate of CSU. Dr Annabel Bowcher is past Chair and parish councillor of St Paul’s Anglican Church, member of Wagga Anglican Pre School Commitee and a PhD graduate of CSU.

Applicants to be actively involved in an Anglican (preference) or other Christian church (applicants to supply a reference from their current church minister to be considered). Preference may be given to students studying Business / Law / Agricultural Science / Veterinary Science. Students who are experiencing genuine financial hardship (hardship section of application must be completed). Applicants MUST live at St Martin's College (can be a new or returning resident). The scholarship is open to new or returning residents. This scholarship is valued at $2500 and must be used to cover accommodation costs.

Laurel Trinidad Accommodation Scholarship (St Martin’s).

This scholarship has been established to provide assistance in the form of accommodations scholarships for students in financial need who have demonstrated academic excellence. Applicants must be continuing students studying full time on the Wagga Wagga campus and must reside at St Martin’s College for the full year (Sessions 1 and 2) of the award.

Applicants must demonstrate academic excellence with a GPA of 5.0 and above and be experiencing genuine financial hardship. Students must provide a Centrelink Income Statement or outline their financial need in the Additional Financial Information section of the application.

The scholarship is valued at $2500 and must be used to cover accommodation costs.

 



Awards

The Charles Houen Citizenship Award

This plaque is awarded to a student who is actively involved in generously serving others in the wider community. Nominations are called from the student community each year during Term 3. The recipient of the award is selected by the Head of College and the Board President and the award will be presented at the College Annual Dinner.

The Marie Thompson Award for Outstanding Excellence

This plaque is awarded to a student who exhibits outstanding achievement on a National or International level. (May not necessarily be awarded annually but when there is someone who qualifies). Nominations will be called from the student community each year during Term 3. The recipient of the award is selected by the Head of College and the Board President and announced at the College Annual Dinner.

The St Martin’s College Dux

The recipient will have their name recorded on an Honour Board and receive a $200 bursary sponsored by the Australian Bedding Company. The College Dux is awarded to the student who has the highest grade point average in the three semesters prior to the Annual Dinner and whose personal character reflects the ethos of St Martin’s College in their day-to-day life. Students are requested to lodge a copy of their results with the Head of College at the start of Term 3. The recipient of the award is selected by the Head of College and the Board President, who will take into account the academic transcripts of the student as well as the behavior and attitude of the student within the college community.

The Cottage of the Year

A plaque and $200 for a cottage dinner is awarded to the cottage that has actively participated in college community activities, worked to enhance college life, and kept itself and its surrounds clean and tidy. The recipient of the award is selected by the Head of College, the Resident Advisors (who keep “Cottage of the Year” points) and the cleaners and the winner is announced at the College Annual Dinner.
